Get Set UK Newsletter March 2022

Welcome to your monthly newsletter.

March was again an incredible month for assisting long-term unemployed people through the various programmes in London and West Sussex.

We are pleased to report that we assisted 348 of our participants into employment last month, bringing the year-to-date total to 960 participants in employment. Our various teams have done an outstanding job, and despite many challenges and difficulties, they have helped to improve the lives of many people and their families.

Finally, we’d like to extend a warm welcome to everyone who has recently joined Get Set UK. We are confident that they will make a significant difference to the growth of our company and the excellent service we provide to our customers.

IWD: Get Set UK’s Female Leaders #BreakTheBias

Get Set UK dedicated an entire week to its female leaders last month in order to raise awareness about the issues that women face in the workplace.

Great success for Fedcap and Get Set UK

Fedcap, in partnership with Get Set UK, has been recently recognised by DWP as a top performer for job starts across Restart in February.

Congratulations to our Restart team in Crawley for doing an outstanding job of assisting, supporting, and guiding customers back to work. The team is very excited to help many more customers find work and change their lifestyle. Very well done!

Tips of the month

Our Partner Employers look beyond the traditional approach of recruiting on experience, and instead recruit based on a candidates attitude and behaviour.

Did you know that there are at least 10 things that do not require previous experience when looking for a new job!

If you’re having trouble finding long-term or permanent employment, internships and apprenticeships are excellent ways to gain valuable experience. They let you earn money while learning a lot about a job or organisation; they’re good for connecting, and they can lead to permanent employment in some cases.

Human Resources Development

Get Set UK continues to grow as a business not just by providing excellent service to our communities, but also hiring great talent to join the Get Set UK family.

We are setting up for success our new starters from day one by providing them with a six months comprehensive onboarding programme.

Throughout the six months, they will receive in-house job training, IEP Level 2 Accredited Sector Induction qualification, Security and Data Protection training, support and supervision from their peers and managers.

Lights, Camera, Action

As we all know, part of the attraction of working for Get Set UK is that no two days are ever the same. This was definitely the case in Kennington last week where Adelaide, Juliet and Alex became actors for the day!

It was interesting for us all to see how much is involved in lighting, planning and staging each scene. Also, how many takes are needed to get it just right.

Gallantium Production are filming educational videos to support staff with all aspects of mental health, including stress and anger management. Over the forthcoming months we will be sharing videos, case studies and podcasts to help us understand and manage different scenarios in our lives.
