Get Set UK Newsletter October 2021

Industry News-Employability Market

October has been another immense month for Get Set UK. Some of the highlights include; The team have supported over 250 of our participants back into employment through the various programmes across London and Crawley, The Skills team have run our first Accredited exams laying the foundations for our ambition to become a recognised deliver of mainstream Skills support for the unemployed and we have opened our newest Centre the Southwark Employment & Skills Hub.

Each month appears a milestone moment at present in some way or other and the opening of the Southwark Hub I do believe is a key standout moment for us all and one we do need to be proud of. The Grand opening & Jobs Fair reinforced our dedication and long term commitment to support the residents of Southwark and surrounding boroughs, the day also illustrated the great network we have in being able to integrate employers and participants with over 25 job offers on the day through the organised Jobs Fair.

I have to continue to applaud the great work and diligence of all our teams and it has been a real pleasure reading the success stories and the impact made on many lives, with two months of the year remaining, let’s ensure we end the year on a real high and carry this momentum forward into 2022 Jaies Morjaria, Get Set UK COO

New training in partnership with IEP available

Get Set UK Ltd is excited to announce, in partnership with the Institute of Employability Professionals, we are launching a new curriculum to deliver the Level 3 Employability Practitioner Certificate, accredited by NCFE, supporting partner organisations in the professionalisation of their front line work force in a very exciting time in the Employability Sector.

We use a blended learning approach to help those who already manage caseloads develop their knowledge, skills and capabilities, via electronic and online media, coaching, assessment and 1-1 support. Employees can access their coursework remotely, supporting the business need of employees managing their caseloads in working hours, however there are collaborative learning and classroom interventions to support the consolidation of learning and skills, where appropriate.

If you are interested in upskilling your employment advisors to support retention, in this competitive employment market, and increasing knowledge, skills and behaviour, to support excellent outcomes for participants please do email for further information.

Great success for London ‘Get that Job’ fair

On 28th October we had the pleasure of hosting ‘Get that Job’, a career and networking fair to support Londoners into sustainable employment, bridging the gap between jobseekers and employers. It was a fantastic occasion to meet people from different backgrounds looking for some new opportunities and challenges in their careers.

This fantastic event was held at our Camberwell office with 230 participants and more than 20 employers, offering a great number of positions available in many sectors. We are proud to say that we arranged 43 job interviews and 25 job offers on the day! It was an incredible achievement, especially during this difficult time, as UK employers are struggling with the worst labour shortage since 1997 and recruiting companies are reporting hiring challenges due to multiple factors including the impact of the Pandemic and Brexit.

We would like to congratulate all the different teams involved in the organization of the job fair and for the support they offered to everyone that attended our event.

We are happy to announce that October’s Employee of the Month is Sanjeev (Restart Crawley). He exceeded his target and achieved 9 Job Starts for October 2021. Welcome on board to all new starters!

Wellbeing, Mental Health & Employee Engagement

Poor mental health and wellbeing can impact an individual’s ability to thrive at work and the situation has been worsened by the pandemic. We can offer businesses some great solutions to monitor their employees’ wellbeing and mental health. That is why we think the time has come for Working Well to have its own website.

So much is changing in the health and wellbeing world, and because of that, we think we need a new platform to better serve our current customers and new customers. We want to provide an easier experience for them, explain our services in a clear and simple manner, and share some useful materials and testimonials. We have a team of talented designers working on this project and we’re confident they will do a great job.

The new site will have a fresh look and improved user experience. Our customers will love the section we’ve devoted to explaining the different Working Well packages to help them decide which items best suit them. We’ve also included a member area dedicated to training, webinars, podcasts, and other useful resources.

The website designers and our team are working hard and we should be able to push it live by the end of January/early February 2022.

Something awesome is coming your way in just a few weeks.

Watch this space.
