As a Business Advisor, you will work with individuals looking to start and grow their small businesses, aligning with our vision and strategy for commercial growth. They will manage clients through a business start-up program, offering support, removing barriers, and improving their confidence and knowledge, thus contributing to their business development. You will assess clients’ needs, maintain engagement, and provide coaching to ensure their success, reflecting our commitment to expertise and professional integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure sustainability by achieving self-employment job start targets and taking responsibility for clients’ growth.
  • Demonstrate commitment to managing clients from job start to job outcome.
  • Promote an ambitious and inspiring approach by coaching and advising small business owners to achieve financial sustainability.
  • Demonstrate commitment to people development by managing client caseloads, relationships, and referrals to meet output and impact targets.
  • Develop action plans and deliver appropriate training and mentoring.
  • Maintain client contact via various methods, ensuring a considerate approach.
  • Promote our vision and strategy by establishing and maintaining relationships with participating organizations.
  • Demonstrate professional integrity by recording client inquiries and partner referrals accurately.
  • Ensure transparency and accountability by monitoring and reporting on performance.
  • Promote the self-employment intervention to partner organizations, demonstrating our proud dedication to the cause.
  • Strengthen our drive for commercial growth by identifying and engaging with complementary resources.
  • Demonstrate adaptability by working flexibly across multiple contracts.
  • Attend regular meetings, contributing to our collaborative and considerate work environment.

Key Skills Required:

  • Proven track record in business advisory or personal coaching.
  • Demonstrate ambition and drive by being confident in working in a target-driven environment and contributing to commercial growth.
  • Proven ability in fostering people development and creating a supportive and growth-oriented environment for team members to succeed.
  • Demonstrate a high level of communication, empathy, and listening skills, and the ability to analyse problems and propose solutions, always putting customer’s requirements at the forefront.
  • Demonstrate responsibility and a high level of professional integrity while carrying out the above-listed responsibilities.
  • Strive to enhance your expertise in IT skills, including management information systems, spreadsheets, and case management/CRM applications.
  • Travel as required.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years experience providing self employment advice.
  • Essential: IAG Level 4 qualifications, SFEDI qualifications, Business Coaching qualification, Qualification for a level 3 teaching and learning.
  • Desirable: Degree-level business education or equivalent experience, good working knowledge of key organizations, and funding related to business support.
