This new programme brings employment support services to people aged 16+ with a mental or physical health condition, learning disability and/or neurodiverse needs, living in Surrey.

Working alongside Surrey County Council, Work Wise focuses on support services for individuals looking for long-term paid employment, employees who need support to continue in their current role and employers who are looking to become more inclusive.

personalised support.

You will be matched to a dedicated Employment Specialist who will work with you to identify your skills, help you find work, and support you to stay in the job.

Your Employment Specialist will talk you through all the ways they can support you in looking for work including writing your CV, identifying your skills and experience to match to a role, interview training, and debt and benefits advice. They will create an action plan and use your interests and current skills to match you to work that suits your needs and abilities.

When you join the Work Wise programme, your Employment Specialist will work with you to create a personalised support programme to help you find employment and also support you to keep your new role.
They can help you with:

  • Identifying work that matches your strengths and interests

  • Increased financial stability and independence

  • Directly approaching employers to secure job opportunities

  • More opportunities for job progression

  • Having your needs met better at work

  • Ensuring work supports your wellbeing and recovery

Not every business is as inclusive as they would like to be. If you are ready to become a more inclusive workplace, Work Wise can help you.  We offer support to businesses and employers of any size who already are or wants support to become an inclusive employer and can offer jobs that are accessible to people living in Surrey or Northeast Hampshire.

What’s the eligibility criteria?

You are eligible for Work Wise employment support if you are aged 16 or over, live in or are registered to a GP in Surrey or Northeast Hampshire, and are one of the below:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Want to work or stay in-work.

  • Not currently on another employment support programme.

  • Have a mental/physical health condition, disability, neurodivergence or learning difficulties.
